Exactly What it Needs
Sometimes the Body Knows
Sometimes people come in for Craniosacral Therapy simply wanting to relax, calm their nervous system, or release tension they’ve been holding for years. Often they don’t arrive with a specific goal beyond wanting to feel better in their body.
One of the beautiful aspects of Craniosacral Therapy is that I’m not working to “fix” a particular complaint or chase a symptom. Instead, I remain neutral, listening to what the body is ready to release and rebalance.
The body is not a collection of separate parts — it is one interconnected system. Sometimes the place someone feels discomfort isn’t actually where the body needs attention.
When I work with someone, I remain present, neutral, and attentive. Through gentle touch, I listen to the body and allow it to guide the session.
In Craniosacral Therapy we often speak about the body’s inner wisdom or inner physician. During a session, it can feel as if my own awareness quietly meets theirs. In that space, the body has the opportunity to release what it has been holding and restore balance in the way it needs to.
The body naturally wants to heal. Sometimes it simply needs the right conditions — safety, stillness, and support — to remember how.
Recently, a client shared something that surprised both of us.
She had come in simply for a Craniosacral session. She hadn’t mentioned anything about motion sickness or nausea, and it certainly wasn’t something we were focusing on during the session.
Later, she realized something had changed.
For many years she had experienced car sickness. It was something she had simply learned to live with.
After her session, she noticed the familiar feeling of motion sickness was gone.
Moments like this remind me how wise and interconnected the body truly is.
When the nervous system settles and the body is given space to release long-held tension, sometimes shifts happen in places we never specifically set out to address.
Healing doesn’t always happen in the ways we expect.
Sometimes the body simply remembers what it already knows how to do.
Since that session, she now comes in every couple of months simply to support her nervous system and maintain the balance her body found.
And I’m always grateful to witness the quiet ways the body continues to take care of itself.

reflections from
the healing room
In my work with Craniosacral Therapy, the body often reminds me how wise it truly is. These reflections are small stories and thoughts inspired by the quiet wisdom of the body and the healing process.
In Their Words
In my work with Craniosacral Therapy, no two sessions are ever the same. Each person arrives with their own story, their own experiences held within the body, and their own way of healing.
Over time, I’ve been deeply touched by what clients have shared after their sessions. Their words are always humbling to receive.
Many people describe a deep sense of relaxation — a feeling of finally being able to settle.
“I feel deeply relaxed after each session, and my nervous system feels more balanced overall.”
Others share a softening of pain or tension they’ve been carrying for quite some time.
“I leave every session feeling less pain and very relaxed.”
Sometimes the shifts are even more surprising — happening in ways we never specifically set out to address.
“After one session, I got my hearing back as well as relief for my neck and TMJ/jaw pain.”
There are also moments where clients describe something more difficult to put into words… a sense of release, of letting go, of reconnecting with themselves.
“I feel the muscles, tension, pain unfolding… almost like my body letting go of protecting itself.”
And often, what stands out most is not just the physical change, but the experience of feeling safe, supported, and at ease.
“Her gentle approach is surprisingly powerful.”
These reflections are never something I expect or try to create.
They are simply what can unfold when the body is given space, stillness, and support — when the nervous system has the opportunity to settle and the body begins to restore balance in its own way.
I am always grateful to witness this process and to be part of each person’s journey.
